TCCC Men's Cross-Country Results

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Roger Williams had four individuals finish in the top 10 to win its ninth straight TCCC Men's Cross-Country Championship Saturday afternoon (Oct. 31).
The Hawks totaled 33 points with Gordon coming in second with 39 points. The University of New England was third with 84 points followed by host Western New England College with 110 and Endicott with 149.
Rounding out the top 10 were Salve Regina with 173, New England College with 201, Anna Maria with 214, and Eastern Nazarene with 257.
University of New England junior Matt Veiga took first among 87 runners with a time of 26 minutes, 41 seconds for 8,000 meters. He earned TCCC Runner-of-the-Year award for his top performance.
RWU freshman Mitch Leveille was second in 27:08 to take TCCC Rookie-of-the-Year honors. A pair of teammates followed as juniors Jon Ellis was third in 27:33 and Tom Maybury fourth in 27:38.
Gordon had the next three places with senior Ben McGrath taking fifth in 27:43, sophomore Marty Maloney sixth in 27:45, and freshman Josh Poritzki seventh in 27:53.
Greg Payne of Endicott was eighth in 27:55 followed by Gordon freshman Max Kronberg in ninth in 27:58, and RWU junior Andrew Gallant 10th in 28:02.
Sophomore Jeff Wagner (Norwalk, CT) led the Golden Bears by finishing 11th in 28:25. Senior co-captain Tucker Jones (Bowdoin, ME) was 24th in 29:39.
