NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Four runners represented Western New England College at the Smith Coed Women's Cross-Country Invitational Saturday (Sept. 12).
Freshman
Hannah Laviolette (Three Rivers, MA) led the Golden Bears in her first collegiate race by covering the 5,000-meter course in 23 minutes, 23.96 seconds. Her time ranked 49th among the 124 competitors.
Junior captain
Angela Koontz (Marblehead, MA) was 52nd in 23:33.10.
Also competing were sophomore
Nicole Copertino (Shelton, CT) and junior
Jessica Katz (Worcester, MA).
Smith senior
Anna Cressotti was the individual champion in 19:43.98.
Wellesley took the team title among the 10 schools fielding complete teams.
