Western New England College to host Worcester State in ECAC Division III New England Championship

The Golden Bears will play one more home game hosting Worcester State Wednesday in the ECAC Tournament.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College softball team will host Worcester State at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday (May 12) in an opening round game of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship.
The Golden Bears (26-19-1) are seeded third in the six-team tournament while the Lancers (19-17) received the sixth seed.
Western New England College finished second in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Tournament while Worcester appeared in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) for the first time since 2004.
Little East Tournament runner-up Keene State received the top seed followed by New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) champion Lesley University of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Both squads received first-round byes.
The other contest Wednesday features fourth-seeded Anna Maria of TCCC hosting fifth-seeded MASCAC opponent Bridgewater State.
The tournament moves to Keene State with four games Saturday (May 15) and potentially three on Sunday (May 16).
