SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Senior first baseman
Joe Griglun (Southington, CT) headed the list of five Western New England College players named to the All-New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Team, which was announced Tuesday (May 18).
Griglun, who led the Golden Bears in several statistical categories, was selected to the First-Team.
Two Western New England College pitchers, senior
Matt Rogers (Portsmouth, RI) and sophomore
Mike Lawlor (Windsor, CT), made the Second-Team.
Junior catcher
Jason Leclerc (Chicopee, MA) and freshman pitcher
Kevin Jefferis (Cheshire, CT) were Third-Team honorees.
Western New England College (33-10) will meet Westfield State (30-9) at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday (May 19) in an opening round game of the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship in Mansfield, Connecticut.
