SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Western New England College softball standout
Sarah Lempicki (Plantsville, CT) has been selected to the 2010 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) New England Division III All-Star Third Team.
A sophomore, Lempicki led the Golden Bears with a 9-4 pitching record and 2.31 earned-run-average with 91 strikeouts in 84.2 innings.
She also served as the team's designated player and saw action at third base in leading the team in batting (.393), hits (64), runs-batted-in (43), homers (4), total bases (86), and slugging percentage (.528).
Lempicki, a Business major, was perfect defensively handing 33 changes with an error.
Last month she was selected to The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) First Team.
Western New England College posted a 26-20-1 record for the program's 11th consecutive winning season and placed second in league tournament.
