Allegheny stays unbeaten with victory over Western New England College

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.
– Freshman forward Megan Halsch (Denville, NJ) scored in the first half and senior Abby Silvester (Mentor, OH) added an insurance goal in the second half as visiting Allegheny College remained unbeaten with a 2-0 victory over Western New England College in a non-league women’s soccer match Sunday (Sept. 5).

The Gators haven't allowed a goal this season in raising their record to 3-0.

Halsh put the visitors on the board with her first collegiate goal in the 39th minute.

The game remained close until Silvester netted her first goal of the season in the 87th minute.

Junior goalie Emily Karr (Wexford, PA) compiled five saves for Allegheny who enjoyed a 14-10 advantage in shots.

Freshman goalie Kayla Prout (Holyoke, MA) turned away seven shots for the Golden Bears who are now 1-2.
