The Golden Bears, who entered the rankings at No. 9 last week after appearing in the 'Teams Receiving Votes' section for the previous five weeks, clinched the CCC Football title on Saturday with their 42-28 victory at Curry College.

In a battle between CCC Football's last two remaining undefeated teams, Western New England compiled a season-high 338 rushing yards on 61 attempts (5.5 avg.). The Golden Bears scored 28 second quarter points and led by two touchdowns at halftime before going on to win by the same margin with the help of three late interceptions.

Plymouth State University (9-1) landed in second place with 127 points and the final first place tally, while Amherst College (7-1), Husson University (8-1) and Framingham State University (8-1) rounded out the rest of the top five.
