Western New England College concludes visit to Florida with win over Otterbein

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Western New England College men's tennis team ended its visit to Florida in fine fashion with a 9-0 shutout victory over Otterbein (Ohio) Thursday (March 19) at the Oak Street Park courts.

The Golden Bears won four of the six singles matches in straights sets and allowed only nine points in the three doubles matches.

Senior co-captain Jason Lee (Scarsdale, NY) posted a 6-2, 7-6 (11-9 tie-breaker) victory at the No. 4 singles spot in the most entertaining match of the afternoon.

Sophomore Steve Genovese (North Haven, CT) won his No. five singles flight (6-1, 6-4) while freshman JonPaul Ouelette (Bethlehem, CT) captured his No. 6 singles match (6-2, 6-2).

Both underclassmen then teamed for a victory at the No. 3 doubles position (8-3).
