Nichols pulls out close win over Western New England College in conference match

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College men's tennis team dropped a close 5-4 decision to visiting Nichols in its final home match of the season Monday afternoon (April 13).

Sophomores Brian Relihan (Orange, CT) and Mike Jones (Stone Ridge, NY) led the Golden Bears by winning the No. 1 doubles match by the score of 8-2.

Relihan also captured his No. 2 singles flight 6-3, 6-0 while Jones earned a win at the No. 3 singles spot 7-5, 2-6, 6-2.

Senior co-captain Jason Lee (Scarsdale, NY) rallied to take his No. 4 singles match 4-6, 6-0, 6-4.

Western New England College falls to 7-6 overall and 4-4 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

The Bison improve to 11-6 overall and 4-3 in the league.

The Golden Bears visit Salve Regina at 3:30 p.m. Thursday (April 16) in their final match of the regular season.
