Jamison Sacco and Emily Savino named Western New England College Athletes-of-the-Week
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshmen Jamison Sacco (Syracuse, NY) and Emily Savino (Ellington, CT) were honored Wednesday (Dec. 2) as the Western New England College Male and Female Athletes-of-the-Week.

Sacco, a member of the wrestling team, opened his collegiate career by winning the heavyweight division at the Roger Williams Invitational followed by a third-place showing at the Springfield Doug Parker Invitational. He won five of six matches at the Parker Invitational and had four pins in eight minutes, 52 seconds to receive the Most Pins in the Least Amount of Time Award. Sacco has a 9-1 record with seven pins this season.

Savino, a guard on the women’s basketball squad, scored a game-high 21 points in her collegiate debut in a close 71-65 loss at Mount Holyoke. She made the All-Tournament Team at the WNEC Hoop Classic after scoring 28 points and handing out 11 assists in a pair of games. Savino leads the Golden Bears in assists (14) and is second in scoring (15.3 avg.) through four games while shooting 50% from the field (18-for-36). 

Sacco and Savino are both Sport Management majors.
