Sophomore went 4-0 on Sunday at NEWA Duals
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 23, 2018) – Sophomore John Boyle (Rowley, Mass.) of the Western New England University wrestling team has broken into the national rankings at 184 pounds, according to the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).
Boyle's impressive sophomore campaign continued on Sunday, as the Rowley, Mass. native went 4-0 at the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Duals on his way to All-Tournament Team honors.
Boyle is 26-4 this season (26-1 against NCAA DIII competition) with 12 wins by decision and 11 by fall. He was the 184-pound champion at Springfield College's Doug Parker Invitational in mid-November, after finishing third at the season-opening Ithaca Invitational, where he went up against some of the top competition in the country.
Western New England will take on Castleton on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Golden Bears' final home dual of the season. Prior to the start of the match, Western New England will honor its senior class.
