Westfield State overtakes Western New England College in dual meet action

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Jamie Campo (Port Jefferson, NY) was a double winner for Western New England College in a 145-104 loss to Westfield State in a women’s swimming meet Wednesday night (Nov. 29) at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

Campo finished first in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5 minutes, 21.32 seconds. She also captured the 50 butterfly in 32 seconds flat for the Golden Bears who now have a 1-3 record.

Freshman Krista Goulet (Saco, ME) won the 100 individual medley (1:06.99) and had a second place showing in the 100 backstroke (1:07.14).

Junior Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) took second in both the 100 breaststroke (1:19.51) and 100 individual medley (1:11.66).

Senior co-captain Ashley Korbut (South Hadley, MA) was second in the 400 individual medley (5:21.81) while junior Laura Sobolewski (East Hartford, CT) was second in the 50 butterfly (38.51).

Westfield State (3-1) had two double winners, junior Lindsay Hryniewich (Acton, MA) in the 200 freestyle (2:07.16) and 500 freestyle (5:55.60), and freshman Lindsay Malboeuf (Westford, MA) in the 50 backstroke (30.36) and 100 backstroke (1:06.00).
