Western New England College splits pair of meets against Regis and Bentley

WESTON, Mass. – The Western New England College women’s swimming team split a pair of meets Wednesday (Jan. 10) defeating host Regis 85-36 while dropping a 77-45 decision against Division II Bentley.

Freshman Krista Goulet (Saco, ME) won both the 50-yard freestyle (27.28 seconds) and 100 backstroke (1:06.25) events while junior Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) took first in the 100 individual medley (1:09.53).

The Golden Bears’ 200 freestyle relay squad of sophomore Jamie Campo (Port Jefferson, NJ), senior co-captain Ashley Korbut (South Hadley, MA), freshman Katelyn Skrzypiec (Manchester, CT), and Goulet finished first (1:52.52) in the final race of the evening.

Campo also placed second in both the 200 freestyle (2:08.32) and 100 freestyle (59.15) while Eggert came in second in both the 100 butterfly (1:10.09) and 100 breaststroke (1:18.98).

Skrzypiec had a second place finish in the 500 freestyle (6:14.89) while Korbut was second in the 50 butterfly (31.31).
