Western New England College downs Salem State and loses close match vs. Gordon

SALEM, Mass. - The Western New England College women's swimming team split a pair of matches Thursday night (Nov. 16) defeating the host Salem State club team 68-43 while dropping a close 57-54 decision against Gordon.

Sophomore Jamie Campo (Port Jefferson, NY) was a triple winner for the Golden Bears capturing the 50, 100, and 500-yard freestyle events.

Junior Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) took first in both the 50 butterfly and 50 breaststroke races in her first appearance of the season.

Freshman Krista Goulet (Saco, ME) also was a double winner taking both the 50 and 100 backstroke events.

Western New England College (1-2) will host Westfield State at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29 in the Alumni Healthful Living Center.
