Western New England College drops meet at Simmons

BOSTON, Mass. - In its final meet before the holiday break, the Western New England College women's swimming team dropped a 130-90 decision at Simmons College Saturday afternoon (Dec. 9).

Sophomore Jamie Campo (Port Jefferson, NY) and freshman Krista Goulet (Saco, ME) were double winners for the Golden Bears.

Campo placed first in both the 50-yard freestyle (26.72) and 100 freestyle (58.49) events, and was second in the 500 freestyle (5:58.94).

Goulet captured the 200 freestyle (2:09.54) and 100 individual medley (1:07.63) races.

Freshman Katelyn Skrzypiec (Manchester, CT) placed second in the 50 backstroke (33.17) while senior co-captain Ashley Korbut (South Hadley, MA) took second in the 200 butterfly (2:38.05).

Western New England College returns to the pool with a three-way meet against host Bentley and Regis on Wednesday, January 10 in Waltham.
