Western New England College comes up short against University of New England

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Competing in their second meet in less than 24 hours, the Western New England College women’s swimming team dropped a 158-104 decision to visiting University of New England Saturday afternoon (Feb. 3) at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

Freshman Krista Goulet (Saco, ME) took first place in three events for the Golden Bears winning the 50-yard backstroke (31.59), 100 backstroke (1:06.87), and 200-yard individual medley (2:27.15).

Senior captain Ashley Korbut (South Hadley, MA) placed first in the 1000 freestyle (12:24.68) and second in the 100 butterfly (1:09.57).

Junior Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) won the 50 breaststroke (36.13) and finished second in both the 100 breaststroke (1:17.55) and 50 butterfly (30.58) events.

The Golden Bears now have a 6-7 record.
