Western New England College defeats Wheelock behind Jamie Campo and Krista Goulet

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Jamie Campo (Port Jefferson, NY) and freshman Krista Goulet (Saco, ME) each won three individual events to lead the Western New England College women’s swimming team to a 148-89 victory over visiting Wheelock College Saturday (Jan. 20).

Campo took first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:09.66), 100 freestyle (58.22), and 50 butterfly (31.45) events. Goulet was first in the 200 freestyle (2:09.32), 500 freestyle (5:56.76), and 100 individual medley (1:08.61) races.

Campo also swam the opening leg and Goulet the anchor leg on the winning 200 freestyle relay squad (1:50.70).

Junior Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) captured two events for the Golden Bears, the 50 backstroke (33.22) and the 100 breaststroke (1:16.90).

Western New England College won 11 of 13 events in the meet to improve its record to 3-6.
