SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Two Western New England College women’s swimming standouts received Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) awards on Monday (Feb. 12).
Sophomore Jamie Campo (Port Jefferson, NY) was selected the GNAC Swimmer-of-the-Week while freshman Krista Goulet (Saco, ME) was named the conference Rookie-of-the-Week.
Campo won two events in a loss at Eastern Connecticut, the 200 freestyle (2:05.77) and 50 freestyle (27.24).
Goulet was a triple winner against the Warriors capturing the 100 backstroke (1:06.73), 200 backstroke (2:25.18), and 50 butterfly (30.51) events.
Campo also swam the first leg and Goulet the anchor leg on the winning 400 freestyle relay team (4:07.58).
Western New England College, which finished with a 6-8 dual meet record, will compete in the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championship this weekend in Durham, New Hampshire.
