Western New England College drops home opener against Bridgewater State

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College women's swimming team opened its home season with a 161-88 loss against Bridgewater State College Saturday afternoon (Nov. 3) at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

Sophomore Krista Goulet (Saco, ME) was the only winner for the Golden Bears taking the 50-yard freestyle in 27.92 seconds. She also placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:08.71).

Freshman Aimee Smachetti (Bristol, CT) came in second in the 50 butterfly (30.50).

Sophomore Bryn Morwich (Indianapolis, IN) was a triple winner for the BSC Bears capturing the 200 freestyle (2:06.79), 100 backstroke (1:06.07), and 200 individual medley (2:24.08). She also swam on the winning 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle relay teams.
