SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 2, 2017) – Junior Erika Sheinhait (Framingham, Mass.) of the Western New England University women's swimming team has been named to the 2016-17 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) All-Academic Team, it was announced last week.
In order to be eligible for the NEISDA All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have completed at least three semesters at their school, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better, and be a team member in good standing.
Sheinhait, a sport management major with a 3.85 cumulative grade point average, is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Societies. She has been named to both the Dean's List and President's List at Western New England, and is a member of both the WNE Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Sport Management Association.
At the NEISDA Championships in late February, Sheinhait registered a fourth-place performance in the 50-yard butterfly finals with a time of 27.41 seconds after clocking in at 27.99 seconds in the prelims.
Sheinhait also broke her own program record in the 100-yard individual medley, earning a time of 1:04.21.
