PAXTON, MA - The Western New England women's cross country team took fifth among six schools at the Worcester City Championship Saturday (Sept. 26) at Moore State Park.
Kathleen Silveira led the Golden Bears by coming in 31st among 71 runners with a time of 22 minutes, 37 seconds over the 5-kilometer course. Meagan Dias was a second behind to finish 32nd.
Also for WNE, Amy Grindle (22:46) was 34th, Kate Armstrong (23:46) was 44th, Rachel Duda (24:22) was 50th, and Ashley Benedict (25:05) was 57th.
Emily Newman of WPI was the individual champion in 19:47 to lead the Engineers to the team title.
